A misted path through old-growth Douglas fir

Approach

Patient capital. Operating control. A long path.

We do not run a process. We do not send teasers. When a business fits, we already know the operators, the ground, and the seasonality. The work after closing is the work: systems, people, and staying put.

  1. I

    Own, don’t rent

We prefer control positions and operating involvement over passive paper. If we cannot help run it, we do not buy it.

  2. II

    Time is the strategy

There is no fund clock and no forced exit. We hold through cycles and measure success in decades, not quarters.

  3. III

    Place matters

We invest where we live and work. Washington and the Texas Gulf are not a thesis slide — they are the ground we walk, the water we know, the houses we keep.

  4. IV

    Operators first

Capital is a tool. The people who run the company are the asset. We back them, stay close, and keep the balance sheet quiet.

How a conversation starts

A letter is enough. We are not looking for auction processes or businesses that need to be sold this quarter. If you operate something durable in Washington and want a permanent owner, write.

Typical first questions: who runs it day to day, where the demand lives, what the next ten years should look like if nobody forces an exit. If those answers are clear, we will say so.
